This news shocked us all. Incidents like these make us doubtful, we become unsure about the mere existence of humanity. When a person commits a crime like this, we realize that what we are truly doing to this earth. We call it mother earth, but do we conserve it? Do we protect it? Or are we so self-obsessed that we have stopped seeing reality? What happened was a shame on human society, it shows that our morals and values are disappearing nowadays,it shows we do not have any emotions<\/a> left.<\/span><\/div>\r\n

After this incident happened, my Instagram account was filled with posts and stories saying that we as human beings deserve what is happening with us! That the current situation is what we truly deserve. It is us who have brought upon ourselves the anger of mother earth! This may be true maybe not. I in no way agree or disagree with this sentiment, but some questions came to my mind after reading these posts.<\/span><\/div>\r\n

Most of the people who are posting these stories and posts are sitting inside their air-conditioned homes, with all of the best resources, with ample food to fill their bellies, so it was quite easy for them to say that \u201cwe deserved it\u201d. But ask a migrant worker or a poor laborer, did he deserve what is happening with him? He doesn\u2019t have money to fill his stomach, he has no place to live, he is struck by poverty, and he feels that there is no hope for his and his family\u2019s<\/a> survival. Did he deserve it? I don\u2019t know about you, but I feel he did not deserve this!<\/span><\/div>\r\n

<\/a><\/div>\r\nIn the lockdown period, more than 300 deaths were reported till 5 May, with reasons ranging from starvation, exhaustion, suicides, road and rail accidents, denial of timely medical care, and police brutality. Among the reported deaths, most were among the marginalized migrants and laborers. 80 migrant workers died while traveling back home on the Shramik Special trains, in the one month since their launch. On 8 May, a freight train killed 16 migrants who stopped to rest on railway tracks near Aurangabad in Maharashtra state. On 9 May, six workers returning to their homes in Uttar Pradesh were killed when a truck overturned near Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh. On 14 May, eight migrant workers were killed and nearly 55 injured when the truck they were on collided with a bus near Guna, Madhya Pradesh. On 16 May, 24 migrant workers were killed in a crash between two lorries in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\r\n

People are dying every day, due to many reasons, we can see images of crying migrants, who only want to live if Corona won’t kill them, hunger will!<\/div>\r\n

We at times post things which are trending on social media, but we should try to see if it is true or is it true for the whole society? We as teenagers have to understand our responsibility, we have this strength to make anything trend! Let us see what the problems of society are and let us fight against what’s wrong and fight for what’s right! If black life matters, if my life matters, if your life matters, then the lives of migrants and poor also matter!<\/span><\/div>\r\n
